After a silence of two TLP's on Florennes, due to runway works, did I made the trip again for the fifth TLP of this year. With good weather in prospect, did I had good changes to see all the participants on their one day mission. And lucky for me where almost all the participants involved in the mission during my visit, with only one German Tornado IDS (JBG31) and one F-4F Phantom (JG71) left behind.
For this TLP no big numbers of aircrafts, or very special aircrafts where planned. However are German F-4F Phantoms and Spanish Mirage F-1M's a rare breed of aircraft these days to photograph. The German airforce was present at this TLP with two types of aircraft. Three F-4F Phantoms from the JG71 'Richthofen', based at Wittmundhafen, besides the two Tornado IDS's from the JBG31 'Boelcke', based at Nörvenich. The Spanish AirForce was also present with two types of aircraft. Two EF-18M Hornets from Ala 12, based at Zaragoza, and two Mirage F-1M's from Ala 14, based at Albacete where present. Also was the USAF again present with two F-16C's from 555 FS.
Furthermore was the Italian AirForce with three types of aircraft at Florennes. Two Tornado IDS/IDT's from the 154 Grupo, based at Brescia where present, together with two F-16AM's from 18 Grupo, based at Trapani. Besides the F-16's and Tornado's had the Italian AirForce also two AMX's send from the 132 Grupo, based at Istrana, with one of the planes marked in a Cat & Mouse tail of the 'Ferruccio Serafini' patch. France had for the second time two Rafale M's dispatched for the TLP, both aircrafts are from the 12 Flotille, normally based at Landivisiau at the west coast of France. With great weather and some nice aircrafts, and with one of the last TLP's at Florennes.
