The fourth edition of the 2006 Tactical Leadership Programme started of with a lot of sunny days and some tropical temperatures reaching over the 30 degrees Celsius. On the 4 July all participants where gathered for the final two weeks of this TLP session, with for the first time in the TLP history a Czech Republic delegation equipped with four L-159A ALCA (Advanced Light Combat Aircraft) aircraft's from the 21.zDL / 241.dlt. The L-159 airframe is based on another Russian made aircraft, the L-39 Albatross. However be not mistaken by the simple lay-out, the L-159A is fitted with the Italian FIAR Grifo-L multimode pulse Doppler radar. The Grifo-L has a proved record in various F-5 and Mirage fighters, and has five air-to-air modes including track-while-scan with 4 air combat submodes, and able to track 8 targets.

Furthermore where present during this sunny TLP edition: Two French Mirage 2000D's from the EC03.003, based at Nancy - Ochey. Italy was present with a rather large delegation in the shape of two Tornado IDS's from the 6 St/154 Gr, based at Brescia - Ghedi, three AMX's from the 51 St/132 Gr, based at Istrana - Treviso, and two F-16A-ADF's from the 37 St/18 Gr, based at Trapani.

After winning the the World Cup Tournament 2006 held in Germany, all Italian aircrafts where painted with Italian flags, the world cup and decorated fuel drop tanks. The difference can nicely be seen on the photographs due the fact some are made before and after the World Cup. The Spanish AirForce was present with three EF-18M Hornets from the Ala 12, based at Torrejón, and Germany was present with six Tornado IDS's from the JBG33, based at Büchel. The Royal Airforce was present with four Tornado GR4's from several squadrons, and had also four Tornado F3's deployed from the 25 & 41(R) squadrons. And last but not least was the USAF present with two F-15E Strike Eagles from the 48 FW, based at Lakenhaeth, UK. and two F-16CG Fighting Falcons from the 31 FW/555 FS, based at Aviano, Italy.
