For almost 14 Years is at Luqa airport at Malta the International airshow organized. A reasonable small airshow, with every year a impressive and exclusive list of participants. In between the airliner traffic of Luqa airport, is the airshow taking place from +/- 14:00hr till 18:00hr, with mostly the sun positioned on the right hand side. A small but very nice list of participants was gathered for the 2006 edition, with as highlight the Croatian Air Force Display Team 'Wings of Storm', however did they cancel at the last moment. Still a nice list left of flying participants with a RAF Hawk and Tucano, French Alpha Jet, Italian AB-212 & CL-415 Water Bomber and VEGA ULM Display Team. The Swiss AirForce was present with the PC-7 team, and highlight on every show, the Dutch F-16 Solo Display with again a very impressive and aggressive display. Rarely seen outside the island, are the aircrafts from the Armed Forces of Malta all based on the Luqa airfield. Present during the airshow where two Alouette III helicopters, three Bulldog T Mk.1's and one BN-2B Islander. Support is given by Italy with the permanent presence of 2 AB212's of Missione Italiana di Collaborazione Tecnica, which also performed during the airshow.
