After a absence of almost 30 Years, organised the Heeresfliegerplatz Buckeburg a very nice "Flugtag" on 10 September 2006. A large fleet of helikopters is stationed at this base, which include the CH-53G, UH-1D, EC-135 and the Bölkow-105. Most of these types participated in the airshow, with solo displays and a massive joint air display which showed the several specific roles. A very nice list of participants where gathered for this airshow, which included a Mi-8PS from Finland, two Bell-412SP's from Norway, two Mil-24P Hinds from Hungaria, and the German and French Tigers. Overall a very nice airshow, with as minor disapointment the bad layout of the static (surrounded with fences and people) and for some of the day the sun in your face during the airshow. However with the flying display of most of the helicopters very close to the public, and some previous not seen choppers, made the airshow absolutely worth visiting.
All local stationed German "hardware" was flying solo or in a massive fly-past. Highlight of the show was the combined "solo" display of both the German and French Tiger helicopter, with the German Tiger in a overall green camouflage, and the French Tiger in a more visable green/brown colour sheme. Also the flying display of the Hungarian Mil-24 was among the highlights of this "Tag der Heeresflieger".
